- The statue is marked Coade Lambeth *** as the act directs 1831
- This statue depicts a 'Nymph unclasping her zone'. The belt or girdle known as a zone (Grecian) or 'Cingulum' (Latin) was worn in antiquity by unmarried girls until their marriage.
- This is one of two statues that we purchased privately - the owners were moving abroad
