• Brass Pilkington & Gibbs Heliochronometer Garden Sundial
• Excellent fully functional working item.
• The patina is excellent.
• Circa 1909.
• A personalised inscription which reads 'I NUMBER NONE BUT SUNNY HOUR'S - PASTURE WOOD 1909.
• The overall measurements are 9 ½" Tall x 6 ½" Base Diameter.
• This is a very rare item. This is only our 4th one that we have seen.
• Would make a fantastic ornament for an office desk.
• Better known as Tropical Helio-Chronometer, this time instrument can be adjusted to latitude and longitude to give an accurate reading in any location.
• This is stamped as Number 257 - it is numbered inside the mechanism and stamped on the actual item in several places.
• A total of 1000 of these were originally made. Of which only 50 are known to exist today.
• The idea of this device was to provide one product that could be used and is accurate in any location throughout the world.
• There is a little dent which is underneath - please see image.
