• An early piece with highly carved detailing.
• We believe the hand carving on the fireplace front to be a portrait of Henry VIII in his healthier, younger years (Slimmer).
• Inscription above the mantel shelf reads: I AND MY HOVSE WILL SERV THE LORD
• Inscription above the insert reads: MD PLENTY AND GRASE BEE IN THIS PLACE XL.
• It comes in 4 pieces which is how it was originally constructed.
• The fireplace place has Roman numerals MDXLI = 1541. This was when Henry VIII was on the throne.
• This is a very rare and unique item and in very good condition for its age - it is ready for installation and use.
• The surround measures: 61 ¾" Wide x 56 ½" Overall Height.
• The mantel shelf is 16 ½" Deep.
• The insert aperture is 33" Wide x 34 ¾" Tall.
• The distance from outside of the leg to the outside of the leg is 59 ½".
