Painting Wooden Chairs Here at UKAA, we offer a painting service for any of our church, chapel and school chairs. We pride ourselves on the quality and thorough job we do when painting the chairs. Find out how we upcycle chairs, what paint we use and the different finishes we offer below. Painting Wooden Chairs: Step-by-Step Step One We use sugar soap on the chairs to get rid of any dirt, grime and wax. Step Two Next, the chairs are primed with two coats of wood primer. Step Three At least three top coats are applied allowing for the paint to dry thoroughly in between coats – this is essential in ensuring a high quality finish. The Paint We Use Using the paint you have chosen, our hand painted chairs are tailored to your exact needs and requirements. The most popular, high quality paint brands used by interior designers at the moment include: Farrow & Ball, Little Green, Dulux and Annie Sloane. Just let us know the colour you’d like us to use on your chairs. Looking to keep the antique look? The chairs can be distressed to create a more lived in finish.
