- Highly Carved Antique Church Oak Eagle Lectern On Stand
- This is a truly excellent example of an Oak Church Eagle Lectern made to a high standard with great detailing.
- This was made in memory of William Harold Nicholls who made it to be Captain at the age of 29.
- It was donated to All Saints Church in Llanbradach in memory of her husband who died in action in 1917.
- The Church lectern measures: 71" Tall x 24" Square Base.
- This is completely carved by hand the detailing is excellent.
- The bible rest is 25" Wide.
- The lectern is totally freestanding and sturdy.
- Circa 1917.
- The eagle is the symbol used to depict John the Apostle, whose writing is said to most clearly witness the light and divinity of Christ.
- The eagle was believed to be the bird that flew highest in the sky and was therefore closest to heaven, and symbolised the carrying of the word of God to the four corners of the world.
