- Pair of Magnificent Hand Burnished Medici Cast Iron Urns
- Made by A.Handyside of Derby Ironfounders 1806-1887
- At the 1851 Great Exhibition they exhibited Medici vases/urns, a bacchanalian vase and a bronzed vase decorated with busts of Peel, Nelson, Watt, Wellington, Stephenson, Scott, Shakespeare and Milton, together with a fountain
- The pattern continues on the underside of the top lip, which makes them rare, obviously made to be seen from below, so they are suitable for mounting quite high up
- The measure 30" Tall and the tops are 2ft across, the bases are 11½" square
- Excellent patina
- These are made to be used, the size of them makes them suitable for use
- These were reclaimed from Shropshire
- There are a couple of nibbles out of the top rim and there is an old repair to one base
