- Meiji Period Japanese Lantern
- Excellent item
- The colour and patina is excellent
- The overall height is 86"
- Made from Bronze and Copper dating from the Meiji Period Circa 1880
- A candle or electricity could be fitted inside the lantern
- This was reclaimed from an estate in Surrey
- Circa 1880
- On the underside you can see the old lead gas pipe and there is a gas pipe just under the head of the lantern. The lantern has been converted to electricity at sometime as there is old wires on the underside. This is a very unusual and rare item suitable for use both in or outdoors, the base has been weighted and would stand up well outside
