Ref: Wagon
- Original Restored Burton Wagon | Vardo (Gypsy Wagon)
- The inside is complete for living in and is in lovely condition. The outside having been completely re-painted last year. The inside comprises of a large bed, a fully working antique cast iron cooking range fueled by coal or wood with tiled hearth, seating area, handmade copper worksurface, lots of storage and fully wired up ready for an electric hook up. Quality curtains and rug are included. The outside has lions head brass water gullies fitted and old antique coach lanterns which have been converted to electric. It also has an exterior storage cupboard, hay rack at the rear of the wagon and removable steps with handrail.
- We purchased this from a retired engineer, who completely refurbished this over many years, he took photographs during the restoration which we have, he carried out one project at a time and we were very lucky to buy this from him.
- For re-painting purposes, we have a list of colours used to paint this wagon.
- This can be used as was originally intended; or a swimming pool changing room, a garden room/summer house, child playhouse or adult retreat. Ideal living space for luxury glamping.
- Only the wealthiest of travellers/showmen would have been able to afford a Burton wagon. They were specifically built to taste. A single horse of around 14 hands would pull the wagon with a second horse being added for hills. This is a very rare wagon and viewing is highly recommended.
- The windows are fully operational i.e. they can be fully propped open and the shutters are also fully working.
