• Rare Anonymous Cast Iron Pillar Box
• Excellent original item
• Fully refurbished in our workshops
• Fitted with an original chubb lock and several keys
• Circa 1879 - 1887
• The box measures 57" tall x 20" wide body
• The base plate measures 26" diameter
• The box is painted in the original Post Office Red Paint
• In 1887 the Post Office admitted that they had made an oversight and then onwards all pillar boxes had a royal cipher cast into the door.
• This box will stand upright on any flat surface, it is also suitable for Hotel Lobbies.
• The box was made by the Handyside Foundry of London
