- Original rare slate sundial made by Richard Melvin in 1850
- The slate dial is 14" square
- Richard Melvin at this time was working mainly in Glasgow
- Most of his sundials are in Museums
- It is rare to find the dial with it's original plinth
- This was discovered locally in the South Midlands
- The sundial measures a total of 50" tall
- The base is 24" square and the top is 16" square
- One of the many inscriptions states - Latitude 52 degrees 28 minutes North
