• Original rare slate sundial made by Richard Melvin in 1850
• The slate dial is 14" square
• Richard Melvin at this time was working mainly in Glasgow
• Most of his sundials are in Museums
• It is rare to find the dial with it's original plinth
• This was discovered locally in the South Midlands
• The sundial measures a total of 50" tall
• The base is 24" square and the top is 16" square
• One of the many inscriptions states - Latitude 52 degrees 28 minutes North
